The Carrothers Home
Constructed in 1933
Fun Fact:
The Carrothers Home is the President’s official residence.
The house is named after George Carrothers, a supporter and former trustee, who deeded his frame home at 1113 North Main Street to Findlay College in 1907. The current brick home at 1115 North Main Street was constructed in the fall of 1933 for $18,000. An addition to the south side of the home, built in 1990, included a great room, basement, screened porch and a deck, giving the President space to entertain guests for University functions.
Intended to serve Findlay’s presidents, the house was the first addition to campus since Old Main was constructed in 1886.
