Glenn and Helen Stout Alumni Center
Established in 1998
Fun Fact:
The center is located in the former home of the late Dr. Herbert O. (’27), who served as third dean of Findlay College from 1958-64, and Helen (Alexander ’28) Now.
The Glenn and Helen Stout Alumni Center, named in honor of benefactors Dr. Glenn (’42) and Helen (Beery ’44) Stout, is located at 1316 North Cory St. Dr. Stout achieved international fame for his research into weather phenomena. While employed by the Illinois State Water survey in the 1950s, he discovered the echo radar pattern that precedes a tornado, leading to the establishment of a network of radar stations throughout the U.S. for the detection of severe storms and tornadoes. The Stout Alumni Center includes meeting rooms and a commuter student resource center.
