The University of Findlay’s Senior Forum is a six-part, weekly series of flexible learning opportunities for the retired community. The fall 2012 session will begin Wednesday, Sept. 26, in the Alumni Memorial Union on campus.
The University’s Office of Academic Affairs and the Hancock County Agency on Aging sponsor the series.
Discounted session fees are offered for those who register before Sept. 19.
The forums, consisting of a variety of informative and interesting sessions, will take place each Wednesday through Oct. 31. Three sessions will be presented during each forum: one in the morning, one during lunch and one in the afternoon. All sessions are stand-alone; participants may choose to attend as few or as many sessions as they wish.
Expert instructors from the campus and the greater community will explore a variety of topics.
All 18 sessions may be attended for one fee of $60 per person or $115 per couple, if paid by Sept. 19. Attendees also may choose to attend single sessions at $4 each, per person, or $8 each, per couple.
After Sept. 19, full-session fees are $65 per person, $125 per couple, and single-session fees are $5 per person, $10 per couple.
A buffet lunch is available for an additional $5 per person, per day. A complimentary coffee and tea bar, along with reserved parking, also will be available.
The Sept. 26 forum will feature “Alzheimer’s: Facts and Treatments” with Marti Williman and Dr. Daryl Pritchard from 10:15-11:30 a.m.
The second program of the day will feature “Dialogue with UF International Students” with Megan Ehora, international recruiter at UF, and students from noon-1 p.m.
The third program of the day will feature “Penny Rugs and Other Fiber Arts” with Lois Wetherill, from 1:15-2:30 p.m.
