Kip Fulbeck’s “What Are You?” HAPA Project
8 p.m., AMU/MPR

Kip Fulbeck is an award-winning artist, slam poet and filmmaker. He was featured on CNN, MTV and PBS, and has performed and exhibited in more than 20 countries. He speaks nationwide on identity, multiraciality and pop culture — mixing together spoken word, stand-up comedy, political activism and personal stories to standing ovations. Brett Eastburn, inspirational comedian

Brett Eastburn was born with no arms and no legs, but more importantly, he truly believes that he was also born with no handicaps! Brett believes you’re a success only if you choose to be. He also believes you are handicapped only if you allow yourself to be. An athlete and professional speaker, Brett has spoken to more than one million people around the world, including Okinawa, Japan, Panama, Canada, Switzerland and Mexico. About the movie: Dan Miller (Jeff Daniels) and his wife, Laura, (Marlee Matlin) who is deaf, only want what is best for their happy healthy son who has been deaf since age four. Should he have an operation that might allow him to hear again? Laura opposes it and Dan supports it. Together or apart, Dan and Laura must make a life-altering decision on behalf of their son.
