DeBow Freed, Ph.D., who became the 16th president of The University of Findlay in 2003, has brought strong leadership to the University, with a special focus on strengthening academic and student programs, finances and a sense of community on campus. He previously served as president of Ohio Northern University from 1979-1999; president of Monmouth College, Monmouth, Ill., from 1974-79; dean of Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, from 1969-74 and a faculty member in the Department of Physics at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y., from 1967-69. He graduated from West Point with a B.S. degree and earned an M.S. from the University of Kansas and Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico, both in nuclear science.

David W. Emsweller is vice president for student services at the University, responsible for overseeing undergraduate admissions, on-campus housing, career services, financial aid, intercultural student services, student activities, Greek life, health services, international admissions, disability services, safety and security, dining services, recreational services, judicial affairs, campus ministry, retention services, counseling services and all other student service functions. He joined UF as dean of students in 1999 and was promoted to his current post in 2002. He previously held posts at Michigan State and Florida International universities and at Adrian College, Michigan. He holds a B.S.Ed. and an M.A. degree from Bowling Green State University.

David P. Ferguson is vice president for development at UF, a position he has held since 2005, and is responsible for development, public information and alumni and parent relations. He previously served as vice president for university relations at St. Bonaventure University; associate vice chancellor for public relations at The State University of New York; and associate vice president for university relations and executive assistant to the senior vice president and provost at The Ohio State University. He earned his B.A. degree from Seton Hall University and an M.S. degree from Columbia University.

Daniel J. May, Ph.D., is vice president of academic affairs, responsible for all academic programs and services at UF, including academic programs and course scheduling, faculty contracts and evaluations, accreditations, assessment, academic support services, technology services and commencement-related activities. May joined the University community in 1991. A professor of geology, he specializes in natural resources, natural hazards, environmental geology and pollution of soil and water, with approximately 20 peer-reviewed publications to his credit. He holds a B.S. from Stanford University and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Martin L. Terry is vice president for business affairs at UF, a position he has held since 1998. He spent 33 years in business with Findlay Industries, beginning as controller soon after graduating from then-Findlay College in 1966 and retiring as vice president of human resources, corporate secretary and treasurer along with being on the board of directors. He is active in community activities including Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement. He earned his B.S. degree in business at Findlay College/Findlay University. |
