Aanal Parikh ’08
Class of 2008, Master of Business Administration
Hometown: Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India

Aanal Parikh“She will have great opportunities ahead of her, and she exemplifies what we look for in our international students,” said Scott Freehafer, Ph.D., assistant professor of business, speaking of MBA student Aanal Parikh of Gujarat, India.

Although Parikh had already earned an MBA in India, she wanted to earn an American MBA. She chose The University of Findlay because the program could be completed in one year with hard work and dedication. The school was a good choice, she said, and she learned a lot from her professors.

In addition, Parikh said that her on-campus work was a good experience. “My supervisor, Dr. Scott Freehafer, has been a good mentor to me,” said Parikh. “I am grateful for his mentoring and giving me the opportunity to assist him.”

Parikh also worked for Kathy Bradford, administrative assistant in the College of Business, and both Freehafer and Bradford appreciated Parikh’s help. “She has done a fantastic job. Actually, she has exceeded expectations,” said Freehafer.

In addition to a full academic schedule, Parikh participated in the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) student chapter. She assisted with organizing guest speakers and meetings.

During her year at UF, Parikh enjoyed attending musical performances at the University, such as the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, which performed on campus three times during the year as part of the 2007-2008 Concert & Lecture Series.

As she reflected on her experience at Findlay, Parikh concluded, “I have learned a lot from my experience at The University of Findlay. I have learned how to interact with others, how to solve problems when students approach you for help and how to be more professional and to the point in getting work done.”
