Listed below are the business related clubs and potential certification options that provide students with hands on experience and skills to build a solid resume.

 

Corporate Partnerships

As corporate partners, both businesses and MBA students are provided with advantages such as tuition savings, free books and other special event-related benefits.


Entrepreneurship Club

Association for Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses 


The purpose of AESB is to advance knowledge and foster business development through entrepreneurship education, research, practice and networking.


Health Care Management Network  

The aim and purpose o the HCM Network is to provide an organization for all health care students where they can share information, conduct activities, and plan for future careers in the administrative and management areas of the health care field.  


The HCM Network consists of professional and pre-professional students from The University of Findlay who are interested in the health care field.  As graduates and undergraduates, they aspire to become leaders in the growing health care industry.

 

Networking Opportunities

Students will have regular access to and networking opportunities with internationally recognized leaders, high-level business executives and entrepreneurs.  


Many successful alumni are actively involved with the University and use their connections to offer opportunities for job shadowing, internships and in some cases, employment opportunities.


SAP

College of business courses have incorporated SAP (Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing) training into their undergraduate courses – and increasing graduates’ marketability at the same time.

 

SAP is used in more than 50 countries worldwide by companies such as Marathon, Cooper Tires and Rubber Co., Coca-Cola Co., Procter and Gamble, Owens Corning, and a majority of Fortune 500 companies. Training employees in the enterprise resource planning software can cost thousands of dollars, but hiring an employee who already knows the basics of SAP can cut down training time dramatically. 

 

SHRM  

The Society for Human Resource Management, or SHRM, is the world's largest association dedicated to the human resource profession.  SHRM has over 575 affiliated chapters within 140 countries globally. Students involved in SHRM at The University of Findlay engage in activities that will be directly related to their future careers.  Students gain experiential knowledge and networking with seasoned professionals by attending local SHRM chapter meetings. 


Six Sigma Green Belt

Offered as part of a master's class (MBA 685), Six Sigma Green Belt Certification teaches a statistical approach to business problem solving, which can be used to solve problems like inefficiency in the manufacturing industry.   

The coursework and preparation for the certification helps students develop and advance their statistic skills and apply them to practical business and manufacturing settings.
