Mentoring and Job Shadowing
Our MBA/CPA Mentoring Program is designed to develop the academic, leadership, and professional skills of our students. The program is structured to match accounting students with mentors with the goal of guiding, supporting and encouraging the development of our students’ professionalism.
As part of the program our freshman and sophomore students are matched with our junior and senior students, and our junior and senior students are matched with local business professionals and CPA’s.
Our Job Shadowing Program for our MBA/CPA students allows the individuals in the program the opportunity to become academically motivated by giving them a unique up-close look at the world of work and provide them with the answer to the commonly asked question, “Why do I have to learn this?” The program enables our students to shadow workplace mentors as they go through a normal day on the job.
Both mentoring programs are designed to provide our students with excellent networking opportunities, formal and informal training to enhance their technical and communication skills, and a renewed belief in themselves and the importance of their roles within an organization.
