Dwight Miller

(March 2007)

Dwight MillerDwight Miller is the owner of ten McDonald’s franchises in Champaign, Illinois, and he also is the majority owner of Triple T Trucking Co., which supplies trucks for DHL package services.

After graduating from Findlay College with a degree in accounting, Miller worked for Owens-Illinois Inc. in Toledo, Ohio, where he met his wife, Alice, who also was an accountant there.

After fivers at Owens-Illinois, Miller quit to take a job as a manger trainee with McDonald’s.  Miller quickly moved up in the McDonald’s organization.  After several years in mid-management positions, he became a zone licensing manager responsible for franchise development in the northeastern United States.  Next, he was operations manager, where he oversaw profit and loss for company-owned restaurants in Connecticut and western Massachusetts.  Then as field services manager, he supervised a staff that provided operational support for more than 200 restaurants.

For the next eight years, he and his wife operated United Consumer Club franchises, first in Albany and Buffalo, N.Y., before moving to Minneapolis Minnesota.

In 1997, he and Alice finally got their McDonald’s franchises with four restaurants in St. Charles, Missouri, which they sold three years later in order to purchase the restaurant group in the Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, area.
