Courses required for the School Building Leader (Principal) License are:
EDAD 568 (EDUC 580): The Principalship
EDAD 570 (EDUC 581): Curriculum and Instruction
EDAD 572 (EDUC 582): Student Personnel Services
EDAD 574 (EDUC 583): Supervision and Professional Development
EDAD 576 (EDUC 584): School Finances and Resources
EDAD 578 (EDUC 586): Educational Law
EDAD 584 (EDUC 592): Organization and Administration of Special
Education
EDAD 586 (EDUC 593): Technology and Assessment for Administrators
EDAD 580 (EDUC 587): Internship (Supervision)
EDAD 582 (EDUC 588): Internship (Administrative Tasks)
Candidates for the School Building Leader (Principal) license must also pass the Praxis II Specialty Test #10410: Educational Leadership: Administration and Supervision and pass a BCI (Bureau of Criminal Investigation) background check.
Internships are to be completed at a state-approved public or private school.
*Note: In October 2005, the College of Education changed the course prefix from EDUC to EDAD for Educational Administration courses. The old course numbers are in parentheses).
