Points of Pride

As of Fall 2005, all candidates who have graduated from The University of Findlay's College of Education with a Middle Childhood License in the State of Ohio have successfully passes the Praxis III Performance Assessment!

The Middle Childhood junior block is enhanced by a series of team night meetings. All candidates and faculty come together in teaming activities that reflect aspects of the middle school concept. Candidates find team nights to be "fun," "interesting," and "worthwhile."

In partnership with the Hancock County Park District, Middle Childhood junior methods candidates and faculty participate in "History Comes Alive." During the first week of their field experience, all Middle Childhood candidates assist Hancock County Park staff and enactors with "History Comes Alive," a program for fourth graders that is held at the Litzenberg Memorial Woods and historic McKinnis House and Gardens, which have been refurbished to mid-19th century style. The county park includes a large barn, out buildings, sheds, and gardens that reflect farm life from the early 1900's. Additionally, there are hiking trails and picnic areas.
