Middle Childhood
Welcome
So, you want to be in the front lines of Middle Childhood Education? Being a middle school teacher is a combination of serving in the Peace Corps, organizing a historic reenactment, competing in the Olympics and winning an Oscar. In no other job do you laugh so frequently, stimulate children’s imagination, negotiate peace, initiate inquiry, ease anxiety, recognize goodness, and often find yourself simply amazed! And, that is just first hour!
The Middle Childhood Education Program at the University of Findlay leads to Ohio Licensure. Middle Childhood teachers in Ohio are licensed to teach grades 4 - 9 in two content areas and Reading. They may select any combination of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and/or Social Studies. The program is enhanced with specialized middle childhood education classes, content area classes, and numerous opportunities for field experiences.
Welcome! Embark on an exciting career in Middle Childhood Education and join us in the Middle!
