Field and Clinical Experiences
The Intervention Specialist program provides field experience during each level of your education coursework. In EDUC 161 and EDFI 503, students have their first field experience. In EDUC 265, sophomore block students begin planning lessons and teach within their content area. During your junior year or in EDIS 538 if you are a post-baccalaureate student, teacher candidates have a "mini" student teaching experience. Your program culminates with an sixteen-week student teaching experience. Teacher candidates are required to complete coursework prior to student teaching.
If you plan to student teach in the fall, apply by April 1. If you plan to student teach in the spring, apply by November 1. Applications are sent to Connie Leatherman, Director of Field Placement.
Your student teaching application, personal data sheet and log sheets are located in the Student Resources section of the College of Education home page.
