EC student with child.Do you like to work with young children?
In Ohio, the Early Childhood license allows you to teach children age 3-grade 3 in self-contained classrooms. With a few more classes, you can expand your employability to teach in a special needs public preschool or to be a k-12 reading specialist.

Do you have a passion to help children with special needs?
The Intervention Specialists program prepares you to work with children ages 5-22 with mild to moderate disabilities. With one more class you can become a k-12 reading specialist.

Do you like children who are a little older and more independent?
The Middle Childhood program prepares you to teach in fourth through ninth grade in two content areas: social studies, language arts, math, and/or science. If you would like to work in a self-contained 4th-6th grade, you can add a Middle Childhood Generalists endorsement. Adding two more reading classes allows you to become a k-12 reading specialist.

Do you want to work in a high school or k-12 in the arts, physical education, health, or languages?
The Adolescent/ Young Adult (AYA) licenses allow you to teach in junior high and high schools in grades 7-12. The University of Findlay offers licenses in Integrated Language Arts (English), Integrated Mathematics, Integrated Social Studies, Integrated Science, and Life Science. We also offer Multi-Age (grades k-12) licenses in Drama/ Theater, Visual Art, Physical Education, Health, Spanish, and Japanese.
