Program Information

Welcome

Three year old boy participating in an informal assessment with Early Childhood Candidates.Do you have a tireless amount of energy and a genuine love of young children? Do you want to help children develop a love of learning and instill in them a desire for lifelong learning? Do you enjoy working with young children in an inclusive setting? If so, you will want to add the Early Education of the Handicapped (EEH) endorsement to your current Ohio teaching license. Teaching at the preschool level in Ohio public schools provides you an opportunity to work with children ages 3-5 in a discovery learning environment. Public preschool classrooms are special education units, comprised of children on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), as well as typically developing children. If you teach in one of  these classrooms, you will help young children develop cognitively, socially, emotionally, physically and in self-help skills. Under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, early intervention classrooms are being added in public school districts. This will require innovative, caring, energetic and capable teachers. If this appeals to you, you will want to register for the EEH endorsement classes.
