Middle Childhood Generalist
Welcome
Welcome to the Middle Childhood Generalist Endorsement! If you already hold a Middle Childhood teaching license, you can add to your employability through this endorsement. In the general Middle Childhood License, you must choose two content areas (from Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science), which are the only two areas you can teach. While this structure mandates teaming, a characteristic of good middle schools, it makes it difficult for school districts to find teachers who can teach in self-contained classrooms in grades 4-6. The Middle Childhood Generalist Endorsement addresses this issue by allowing you to add one or both of the content areas that were not on your original teaching license. Please click on Rotation of Courses for details of the requirements of this endorsement.
