Program Information

Welcome

Welcome to the K-12 Reading Endorsement Program at The University of Findlay! As the program director, I am pleased to invite you to become part of our “literacy team.” Through critical inquiry and active engagement within our classes to clinical experiences on and off campus working with students who have issues with reading and literacy, our dedicated literacy faculty promise to prepare you for the many challenges set forth by the "No Child Left Behind" legislation of 2002.

This series of courses attached either to your undergraduate license, or graduate programming, along with the passage of PRAXIS II test: Introduction to the Teaching of Reading (#10200), will allow you to work with students in the public schools (kindergarten through grade twelve) who may need reading and writing assistance. The educational experiences within the six course rotation, will provide a solid base of literacy learning for you and the children with whom you will work.

Please come and join us! We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours in Literacy Education,

Kim E. Forget, Ph.D.
Director, Reading Program
