TESOL/Bilingual
Do you enjoy other languages? Would you like to work with children whose first language is not English? If so, consider adding the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and/or Bilingual Endorsement(s) to your existing teaching license. The TESOL Endorsement allows you to teach English to second language learners. The Bilingual Endorsement allows you to work in classrooms in which content is taught in both English and Spanish. Under the federal No Child Left Behind Act or 2001, it is essential to demonstrate that we can meet the needs of all children, including those whose first language in not English. If you would like to take on this challenge, you will want to investigate adding the TESOL or Bilingual Endorsement to your teaching license.
