Congratulations to Faculty and Students

  Assistant Professor Jacquelin Chamberlin received a Retired Educator's Commendation from The American Occupational Therapy Association recognizing her commitment to the advancement of occupational therapy education. Jackie's name will be displayed at the 2010 Awards and Recognitions Ceremony at the AOTA national conference in May 2010 as well as the November/December 2010 archival issue of the American Journal of Occupational Therapy.

Professor Chamberlin plans to retire from academia at the completion of this year, but it is predicted she will continue to contribute her expertise to the profession in many other ways.

 


 


Miranda Tippie is presented with the Traditional Class of 2009 Fieldwork Award by program director, Dr. Goodwin and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, Mary Beth Dillon.

Assistant Professor, Tara Beitzel (below) earned a Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree from Nova Southeastern University in December, 2009. Congratulations, Dr. Beitzel!

Dr. Rosalie King (below) was promoted to associate professor in February 2010.

Asst. Professors Tara Beitzel and Laura Schmelzer co-authored a chapter entitled  "Leaders as Change Agents" in the 2009 edition of An Occupational Perspective on Leadership: Theoretical and Practical Dimensions, by Sandra Dunbar, DPA, OTR/L.

Dr. Rosalie M. King authored a chapter entitled "The Experience of Flow and Meaningful Occupation" in Occupational Therapy Essentials for Clinical Competence, published in 2010 and edited by Karen Sladyk, Karen Jacobs, and Nancy MacRae.

Seniors interact with international students in the IELP program, during a course highlighting the importance of addressing culture in the provision of client-centered care.



International Service

   

A
ssistant Professors Jackie Chamberlin and Rosalie King traveled to Ukraine in 2008. There, they joined occupational therapists and students from across the US in providing services to individuals with disabilities, for whom occupational therapy intervention is not available.
