Macklin Intergenerational Institute
Dr. Cynthia Goodwin and instructor Tara Beitzel received $25,000 from the Macklin Intergenerational Institute to complete a qualitative study examining the perceived benefits for older adults who participate in an intergenerational program. The site of the study is Birchaven Retirement Village in Findlay, Ohio, where the focus will be on assessing how intergenerational programming affects feelings of loneliness, helplessness, and boredom. In addition, any subsequent changes in physical, emotional, intellectual, social, behavioral, and pharmaceutical systems will be evaluated.
