Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity
The annual
Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity
was held April 7, 2009. It is a university-wide event designed to provide undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to share their research and creative works. Awards ceremonies are held by the university and specific colleges in addition to student presentations.
Regular classes are suspended for the afternoon to facilitate attendance and participation by all.
Rachel Rufe (left) and Miranda Tippie(right) were both presented with the Outstanding Graduate in Occupational Therapy Award (traditional) by Dr. Cynthia Goodwin. The weekend student receiving this 2009 award was Shelly Smith.
Traditional graduate students Rachel Rufe, Alicia Hindall, and Amanda Wolford presented on their research project thus far, entitled :
Identifying How Environmental Challenges Influence a Mother's Ability to Orchestrate Health-Promoting Lifstyles for her Children.
Miranda Tippie, occupational therapy graduate student, joined Lori Cochagoff, head of Disability Services, for a presentation entitled:
Text-to-Speech Reading Programs for Individuals with Reading or Visual Disabilities.
