Occupational Therapy Hosts
Dr.  Karen Jacobs, Ed.D., OTR/L, CPE, FAOTA
 

On February 12th and 13th Dr. Jacobs, past president and vice president of the American Occupational Therapy Association and the program director of distance education post-professional programs in occupational therapy at Boston University, spread her enthusiasm for occupational therapy in two dynamic presentations:
  • How Full is Your Backpack?
  • Being an Occupation FANATIC

Among her many accolades, Dr. Jacobs is a 2005 recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to the Universiy of Akureyri in Iceland, a certified professional ergonomist, founding editor of the international journal WORK: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment, and Rehabilitation, and the author of numerous publications.
   
 Students and clinicians enjoy personal interactions with Dr. Jacobs, who engaged audience members in role playing how they would define occupational therapy to a stranger in an elevator.
