PHTH 520 Research I
This course is the first in a series of four or five research classes. This course is an introduction to the research process. Topics to be covered include: research searches, analysis of research literature, development of a research question, hypothesis testing, and research design. The students will also choose their scholarly achievement option and complete a Scholarly Achievement Contract.
PHTH 522 Research II
This course is the second course in the research series of classes. The course covers measurement theory and applied statistics.
PHTH 616 Faculty Directed Research I
This course is the first in a series of three research classes. Focus is on literature review, research design, methodology and data collection. This is a directed study under the supervision of a faculty advisor and will be graded S/U.
PHTH 636 Faculty Directed Research II
This course is the second in a series of three research classes. The focus here is on the data analysis, results and discussion sessions of the research paper. This is a directed study under the supervision of a faculty adviser and will be graded S/U.
PHTH 656 Faculty Directed Research III
This is the third in a series of three research classes. Here students complete their research projects and make formal presentations, both oral and written, of their results. This is a directed study under the supervision of a faculty advisor and will be graded S/U.
PHTH 628 Case Reports I
This course is the first in a series of two case report classes. Focus is on literature review, methodology, outcomes analysis and discussion, and preparation of a poster or platform presentation for Fall Research Forum at the University of Findlay. This course will be graded S/U.
PHTH 648 Case Reports II
This course is the second in a series of two case report classes. Focus is on outcomes, discussion and conclusions, and abstract preparation. The students are also required to prepare either a platform or poster presentation of their cases. This course will be graded S/U.
