Advising
The athletic training program has a competitive admissions process; therefore, students must apply for formal admission into the professional phase of the Master of Athletic Training Program (MAT). Prospective students can download all admission materials from this website or they can request a program brochure and admission materials from the MAT Program director, Dr. Sue Stevens.
IMPORTANT note: If a prospective student is lacking any of the requirements by the application deadline, please contact Dr. Stevens to discuss your options. Furthermore, admission of qualified students will continue until all available positions have been filled. Classes for the Professional Phase of the MAT Program begin in July. At this time, the program's Admission Status = OPEN for Summer 2010.
Physical therapists and other applicants with graduate coursework completed: There may be some graduate courses that will transfer into our MAT curriculum. Each student's case will be reviewed individually. Regardless of what courses transfer, the type of clinical experiences and previous degrees earned, our MAT Program is still 2 years in length - as required for CAATE accreditation.
