2008 University of Findlay School of Pharmacy Summer Camp

    Our first annual Pharmacy Summer Camp will be held July 15-17, 2008 on the campus of The University of Findlay. High school students entering their junior or senior years are encouraged to attend our overnight camp. We will spend three days exploring topics in our professional pharmacy curriculum and how each class applies to what pharmacists do each day: pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics and pharmacotherapeutics. Each topic will include "coursework" along with hands-on experiences and problem-solving activities. Pharmacy Summer Camp is a great way to learn more about the profession of pharmacy and what it takes to become a pharmacist. Students will also enjoy the opportunity to explore The University of Findlay School of Pharmacy, meet faculty members and other students who share their interest in becoming a pharmacist. The camp has availability for 30 students, and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so get your registration forms in early!

    3:00 pm- Pharmaceutics (Compounding Lab)
    5:00 pm- Dinner
    5:45 pm- Activity
    7:00 pm- Guest Speaker
    8:30 pm- Snacks & Free time (swimming, ice skating, cardio center, etc.)

Thursday, July 17
    7:30 am- Breakfast
    8:15 am- Therapeutics & Its Application
    11:00 am- Guest Speaker
    12:00 pm- Lunch
    1:00 pm- Closing
    2:00 pm- Time available for families (if desired) to go on campus tours,
        School of Pharmacy tours, meet faculty and current students, answer
        admissions questions

Other Important Information:
    Students will be housed in on-campus dormitories and all meals and snacks will be provided through the University of Findlay's dining services. Online registration will prompt the School of Pharmacy to send a formal registration. Submission of the formal registration along with the camp deposit will award the student a seat in the camp on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline for submission of the formal registration material is June 1, 2008. The cost for the camp is $200.
