Massage Therapy
Welcome
Spiritual and healing traditions have valued touch and the use of hands for healing since the beginning of human memory. The American Massage Therapy Association defines massage therapy as "a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques and may apply adjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client." The four basic forms of massage are usually considered to be Swedish, trigger point/neuromuscular, deep tissue and sports massage.
