Medical Laboratory Science
The medical laboratory science (MLS) program at The University of Findlay is part of the Diagnostic Services Department that also includes our Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) and Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET/CT) programs.
If you like the idea of using science to solve mysteries, then the MLS field may be a good fit. Medical laboratory scientists are skilled professionals performing investigative tests on blood, tissue and body fluids to help diagnosis medical conditions. These tests range from simple blood tests to the complex analysis needed to uncover diseases such as AIDS, diabetes or cancer.The University of Findlay's MLS program will prepare you to enter an accredited clinical education training program. The program includes courses that are required for certification as well as the general education requirements needed for a bachelor of science degree

Articulation AgreementsCleveland Clinic School of Medical TechnologyThe University of Findlay offers a coordinated 3+1 program with the Cleveland Clinic School of Medical Technology. After three years at UF, you can enter the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited Cleveland Clinic School of Medical Technology. Upon successful completion of this training, you will be awarded a bachelor of science degree from The University of Findlay and will be eligible to take the national examination and apply for certification as a medical laboratory scientist.Ohio Northern University's Clinical Laboratory Science ProgramThe University of Findlay offers a coordinated 3+1 program with the Ohio Northern University's West Central Ohio Clinical Laboratory Science Program. After three years at UF, you can enter the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited West Central Ohio Clinical Laboratory Science Program. Upon successful completion of this training, you will be awarded a bachelor of science degree from The University of Findlay and will be eligible to take the national examination and apply for certification as a medical laboratory scientist.
