A major in physical education at The University of Findlay can lead you into the education field teaching physical education and will prepare students for the multi-age teacher licensure, grades; pre-school through grade 12.

Our Program

A physical education major’s course work will consists of a balanced mix of core physical education classes and field experiences within the public schools systems. As early as your freshman year, you will be in the field - observing, participating and learning. Your classes in teacher education will prepare you for an exciting career as an educator.

With a major in physical education you will be prepared for a wide variety of professional opportunities such as:

• Teaching physical education in public and private schools

• Coaching youth sports and interscholastic athletics

• Sports/athletic administration

• Health and human performance

• Fitness professions

• Recreation management

For students who pursue a career path other than teaching in schools, the physical education major will prepare you for jobs in your community recreation such as:

• Managers of golf courses

• Fitness centers

• Local or state parks

• Youth directors at your local YMCA
