Medical College Admissions Test

The Medical College Admission Test  (MCAT) is a standardized test that includes multiple-choice questions and a writing assessment.  It is required by most medical schools and is designed to assess applicants' critical thinking, problem solving, writing ability and knowledge of the physical and biological sciences.  To learn more, visit http://www.aamc.org/students/mcat/start.htm.


Association of American Medical Colleges

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) represents US and Canadian medical schools, teaching hospitals, health systems, VA medical centers, and medical school faculty and students.  They publish numerous resources for students, such as the 2006-2007 Medical School Admission Requirements (MSAR).  This resource is published annually and provides information on the application procedures, selection factors, medical school class profiles, and costs and financial aid for US and Canadian medical schools. American Academy of Family Physicians: Guidebook

The Family Medicine Roadmap is a guidebook developed by Northwest Missouri Area Health Education Center to asssit perspective students with the nauances of preparing for medical school and specifically for a career in Family Medicine.  The guide book is located at American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) website.  You can access the guidebook directly by following this link
