If  you decide to major in Public Administration (many of our Public Administration students choose to major in Political Science) you may be qualified to apply for either the Jackson Betts Scholarship, The Tennyson Guyer Memorial Fund or the Gary L. Cramer Endowed Scholarship. 

The Jackson Betts Scholarship

Once enrolled as a political science student at The University ofFindlay, there is an opportunity to apply for a scholarship that is only available to political science majors. This scholarship, theJackson Betts Scholarship, is based solely on academic achievement. We are very proud of our graduates in political science. Many have gone onto distinguish themselves in graduate and law schools. The liberal arts education at The University of Findlay provides all of our politicalscience majors with a good foundation for success in both public and private sector careers.

Tennyson Guyer Memorial Fund

The Tennyson Guyer Memorial Fund was initiated by Mrs. Tennyson Guyer in memory of Tennyson Guyer ’34, who had a lifetime relationship with UF. His father was the fifth president of Findlay College, and “Tenny” was a graduate in the Class of ’34. He was a pastor in the Churches of God, General Conference, a state legislator in the Ohio General Assembly and a Congressman from Ohio’s Fourth District. Mr. Guyer was awarded an honorary doctorate degree in 1954. Earnings from the fund are divided between the Tennyson Guyer Memorial Scholarship and maintenance of the Tennyson Guyer Rooms in Shafer Library. The scholarship is awarded to deserving students residing in his original district, majoring in business administration, communication, religion or political science with leadership potential.

Gary L. Cramer II Endowed Scholarship

The family and friends of Gary L. Cramer II have established, in his memory and in recognition of his achievement and dedication to The University of Findlay, the Gary L. Cramer II Endowed Scholarship Fund. Gary was a political science faculty member who inspired enthusiasm for taking the next step on what could be a sometimes rocky pathway to success. This scholarship will assist full-time students majoring in political science who carry at least a 3.0 G.P.A.
