    Our Program

    What distinguishes The University of Findlay’s criminal justice program from others is our commitment to enriching you with the knowledge, skills and judgment necessary to become recognized leaders in the criminal justice field.  

    As a criminal justice major you will take classes such as:

    • Corrections
    • Criminal investigation
    • Criminal profiling
    • Legal issues in criminal justice
    • The juvenile justice system
    • Victimology

    Through interaction with our dedicated faculty, each with real-world experience in the criminal justice profession, you will develop the ability to transform cutting-edge knowledge into meaningful practice. Through personalized advising and interactive instruction, our dedicated faculty will prepare you to be leaders in the criminal justice field.

    Hand-on Experience

    The University of Findlay specializes in providing hands-on learning with the help of faculty who are experienced in their fields. Through UF’s collaborative relationship with the Washington Center, you will be able to complete internships in Washington, D.C., with federal criminal justice agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Attorney’s Office and U.S. Department of Justice.

    Student Engagement Opportunities

    The student-run Criminal Justice Club offers learning opportunities such as:

    • Ride-alongs with local police agencies
    • Active participation in real-life law enforcement scenarios through utilization of Firearm Training Simulators
    • Stimulating conversations with professionals and experts in the criminal justice field
    • Tours of male and female prisons and jails and area crime labs

    Andrew was a 2006 graduate of The
    University of Findlay.  He earned a BS in
    business management with a minor in
    criminal justice.  Andrew lost his life in
    the line of duty serving as an officer
    for the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
