The program
Choose to major in journalism, digital media, public relations, organizational communication, health communication or interpersonal communication. Employers have come to know and appreciate that our students are ready to hit the ground running.
Real-world learningIn the communication program, you will be at the center of the action—getting hands-on experience through internships, working with the on-campus media and student organizations, including the nationally award-winning PRSSA chapter, and the Pulse, UF's award-winning newspaper, and WLFC-FM, the campus radio station. You may also learn the basics of video production through work with our digital media program.
Faculty mentors at your side
At Findlay, you'll learn from professionals--not teaching assistants. Faculty members are experts in their fields and they practice what they teach, cumulatively bringing to the classroom over 150 years of experience in journalism, public relations, advertising, management, telecommunications and scholarship.
Faculty have worked with some of the nation's top media (such as the
New York Times and national morning television programs), traveled and taught around the world, competed nationally in oratory, been published in leading academic journals, worked at daily newspapers, and written for national and regional magazines. They are active scholars and practitioners engaging students in and out of the classroom.
