The UF Difference: Why Study Here?
With an average student-teacher ratio of 14:1, you’ll learn directly from professionals, not teaching assistants. They practice what they teach and have worked with some of the nation’s top media, including the New York Times and national morning TV programs. Their experiences are diverse; they have taught abroad, been published in leading academic journals and have written for national magazines. They are active scholars and practitioners who engage students both in and out of the classroom.
You also will have opportunities to be actively involved in hands-on learning experiences such as:
PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America)
PRSSA is a student-run PR agency, where students build skills, learn leadership abilities and network. Working with real clients and campaigns, PRSSA designs and executes public relations plans for clients on and off the UF campus. We are proud to say that this student organization has earned two national Teahan awards for chapter development and community service.
UFTV
The University of Findlay television station produces local programming for one of UF’s broadcast channels through Time Warner Cable.
WLFC-FM, 88.3, is The University of Findlay’s radio station. Covering parts of Northwest Ohio and streaming online, it features new music, UF-based programming and sports. Students have the opportunity to work on-air or behind the scenes with the station manager.
The Pulse is the award-winning campus newspaper published by The University of Findlay students. It publishes in print and online. Students gain experience as writers, columnists, business managers and technicians.
Web and media technology services (WMTS)
WMTS is a multi-media production house within the University. Students, faculty and staff produce audio, video and presentation projects for UF as well as for non-profit organizations in and around the local community.
