Recent development (2007) of a Psychology Lab located in the basement of Myers Hall. This lab allows student and faculty to conduct research and complete experiments that are presented at local, state or national conferences
Outstanding and caring faculty
One-on-one mentorship where faculty individually advise students as they enter UF and guide them toward graduation

Annual Psychology Conference on April 6, 2011 on Positive Psychology. National presenters from the University of Michigan, Dr. Chris Peterson and Dr. Nansook Park, shared their research and experiences in Positive Psychology
Internships, usually volunteer, provided in the community to help students with hands-on-experience. Students are offered opportunities for service learning at mental health centers, schools,
nursing homes, day care centers, businesses, domestic violence shelters, etc.
Development of a Traveling Psychology Lab by the Psi Chi Club that is presented at local and area high schools

Involvement of the Psychology faculty on numerous University and community committees and organizations. Dr. John Malacos is currently on the Faculty Affairs Committee, serves on the Graduate Standards Committee, and is a member of the University Strategic Planning Committe. Professor Don Collins is Faculty Marshall and serves on Committee on Committees and Campus Compact. He also plays an important role as Athletic Coach for Student Athletes assisting the many athletes on campus to become more successful students. Dr. Evelyn Buday chairs the the IRB, and is a member of the committee on campus to revise General Education. Dr. John Leach serves on the COLA Curriculum Committee
