"Choosing to be a psychology major has proved most beneficial for me. My psychology professors have given me a wide background of knowledge and support. The program supplies a good foundation for a variety of careers and further education. I feel that being involved with psychology has given me many opportunities to get involved, as an undergraduate student. I have found the information in my psychology classes actually interlinks with the information from classes of other fields of study. As much guidance, experience, and direction as it has provided, majoring in psychology is only the beginning.

"The psychology program has really taught me how to delve into someone's inner thoughts and help them live healthier lives. The psychology professors have challenged my thinking and pushed me to reach my academic potential. The professors also really care about each and every student and always make time for students if they have questions or need help with anything. It has been amazing to learn how the mind works and extremely beneficial to learn how to conduct psychological research. I have become more open-minded and accepting of those different from me because of the psychology program at Findlay. This has been an exceptionally positive experience for me and has helped guide the way for my future endeavors."

"If I had to use one word to describe my experience in The University of Findlay Psychology program, it would be opportunity. The program allotted me the opportunity to study contemporary and classical theories of personality, development, and psychopathology that all shape the way we understand human behavior today. The program also gave me the opportunity to pursue independent research projects that expanded my knowledge of psychological research and gave me a greater understanding of how theories that were learned in the classroom could be applied in the real world. Finally, the Community-Urban Experience created for me the opportunity to develop my interpersonal communication skills, as well as gain a greater understanding of human behavior through real-world experience.
All of these rich and diverse experiences in real-world applications, research, and theory gave me the skills and knowledge to be a competitive graduate school applicant, and later, a successful graduate student. This has lead to my greatest opportunity of all, the chance to help people make meaningful changes in their lives in my career as an Outpatient Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Therapist."

"The psychology program at The University of Findlay was the place for me to complete my undergraduate years of college. The class sizes are large enough to hear other students' thoughts and to be challendged with different ideas and concepts, yet they are small enough so that you can get to know other students and the professors. The professors are easily accessible, and I have always been able to go to their offices for additional help if needed. The professors are up-to-date on current issues in psychology, they are concerned about their students' progress, and they will go through great measures in helping a student to find their calling in life. The Community-Urban Experience (CUE) that is required of Psychology majors was a very positive experience for me, the field experience that I received through CUE proved to me what psychology-related career I was passionate about and it helped me to make contacts in my area of interest. I have had an extremely positive experience wiht The University of Findlay's Psychology program and would highly recommend it to other individuals with an interest in psychology."

"As a proud alumnus of The University of Findlay Psychology program, I am grateful for the guidance provided by all of the professors within the department. The professors in this program do more than guide their students academically. They guide them in their aspired psychology professions providing them with opportunity to explore various job prospects. Students are treated as individuals with leadership potential providing them with opportunities for personal and professional growth within community service and school organizations. These teachers welcome regular interaction with their students during their residency, and beyond graduation, making this program more than an academic relationship by creating life-long mentoring connections."
