Religious Studies
Religious studies is a humanities discipline in the tradition of liberal arts education. Majors and minors in religious studies learn to read, write, speak, listen, and think carefully, clearly, and effectively about issues which matter deeply to all peoples and cultures: life and death, rites of passage, ethical reflection and action, relationships between self and society, faith and transcendence, and human destinies. They also learn to study religious traditions from a wide array of disciplinary perspectives. A University education in religious studies provides graduates with a rich, versatile, and valuable set of skills and habits which will serve them well in a variety of professional vocations, and which will endure for a lifetime.
