Points of Pride

Students enrolled in the University of Findlay's Spanish program are actively engaged in activities in and outside of the classroom and also in Spanish speaking countries:

  • Students enrolled in The University of Findlay's Spanish program travel to Mexico and Peru for immersion experiences through course work, internships, excursions and homestays. 
  • Students share their study abroad experiences with the UF community on Academic Excellence Day. 
  • Service learning opportunities are available to students with local Hispanic service organizations.  
  • Students participate in service learning projects at Washington School. They teach Spanish to second and third graders in the FABBS (Findlay After and Before School Sessions) program. 
  • Students attend conversation tables with native speakers of Spanish.  
  • Students attend Hispanic dinners, Hispanic film discussions, workshops, and major and minor informative meetings, organized by faculty members.  
  • Students and professors participate in International Night with Hispanic country displays and performances.  
  • Professional development workshops for high school Spanish teachers are organized yearly.
