Spanish
¡BIENVENIDOS! The University of Findlay's Spanish Program is designed to help students develop language skills to interact with Spanish speaking people.
- We offer small and dynamic classes that maximize student participation with a focus on communicative language teaching. Classes are conducted mostly in Spanish.
- We encourage you to get involved in workshops, lectures and activities that give you insight into Spanish-speaking cultures. We also encourage you to participate in campus events such as Hispanic dinners, Hispanic films, Hispanic Heritage Week and International Night.
- We offer a traditional study abroad program with a home stay in Cuernavaca, Mexico as well as an innovative internship, which involves teaching English at the Centro Peruano Americano in Trujillo, Peru.
- For Spanish education majors - prospective teachers - we offer teaching opportunities in local classrooms throughout their college coursework. The Spanish program offers additional classroom experience to students who would like to teach in a nearby after-school language program for second- and third- grade students.
- As Spanish is the second most widely spoken language in the world, graduates with double majors will have access to positions in many fields, such as international business, education, law, criminal justice, medicine, social services and technical translation.
