Animal Science Major

Reasons to consider a major in Animal Science:

  • You are business-oriented and are interested in the business and financial aspects of the animal agricultural industry.
  • You want to work with domestic livestock such as beef cattle, dairy cattle, horses, sheep, and swine.
  • You are interested in the efficient production of food animals and the processing and consumption of high-quality meats and dairy products.

Additional coursework needed:

  • Animal Production courses - students are required to take 3 of 5 courses for 6 credit hours
  • Animal Science electives - students are required to take 15 credit hours with 9 credits being 300 level or higher
