Completing General Education Credits (GECs) is as easy as taking one of six introductory classes, like aquatic biology, intro to oceanography, and insect field biology. For science majors there are several upper lever hands-on classes to choose from, including spider biology, field ecology, and field herpetology. Juniors and seniors planning to attend graduate school can get a head start on research now! Stone Lab’s Research Experience for Undergraduates Scholarship Program gives students the chance to conduct the entire research project, working closely with their research supervisors, collecting data, analyzing their discoveries, and preparing a presentation to their peers. The scholarship provides a full ride, including tuition for a five-week course at the lab and the two-semester hour credit research experience. As an undergrad, there’s no better way to learn the research process, and it looks great on a resume! The deadline for REU applications is coming up quickly—February 22. Scholarships and Jobs All students taking for-credit courses at Stone Lab are eligible for scholarships.
