Minors and Certificates

Two minor and two certificate options exist within the computer science department and one interdisciplinary minor is offered in conjunction with the College of Business.  These minors and certificates are as follows:

  • Computer Science Minor - consists of the freshman and sophomore-level programming classes with a choice of several other courses, all which are designed to lead to a two- or four-year degree in computer science.

  • Information Processing Minor - focuses on general purpose application software expertise and the use of software to manage and create information.

  • Business Information Assurance Management Minor - provides the student with a fundamental business background and the knowledge needed to provide data and information integrity through effectively handling the security risks associated with business on the Web.

  • Computer Applications Certificate - focuses on proficient and expert use of general purpose application software.

  • Information Assurance Certificate - provides students the opportunity to earn the NSTISSI 4011 certification.
