Scholarships and Awards

The following are scholarships and awards that are available to computer science students at The University of Findlay. Application procedures are available at the Office of Financial Aid.

Ralph W. Gunnett Sr. Memorial Scholarship

The Ralph W. Gunnett Sr. Memorial Scholarship was established in 1991 by Mr. Gunnett’s family and his grandson, Craig E. Gunnett, a UF faculty member.
Mr. Gunnett spent his life working in heavy construction and for the railroad in Pennsylvania. The scholarship is given annually to a junior or senior majoring in computer science.

Richard W. Corner Memorial Scholarship

Richard W. Corner came to The University of Findlay in 1980 as an associate professor of computer science and mathematics. During his tenure at UF, he was instrumental in creating the computer science major and establishing the basis for UF's computer operations. While he served in several leadership positions in Computer Services and the Computer Science area, his real love was teaching students in the classroom. He enjoyed developing new courses and learning new technologies. He was highly respected by both his colleagues and students for his knowledge and dedication to the technology field. The scholarship is given annually to a junior or senior majoring in computer science.

Computer Science ACM Horizons Award

Awarded to a sophomore or junior majoring in computer science who has a GPA of at least 3.5 in his/her major and a 3.2 GPA overall. Selection is based on academic accomplishments, involvement in organizations and jobs related to their major, demonstrated leadership potential, future promise and ethics and professionalism.

Outstanding Senior in Computer Science

Awarded to a computer science senior who has demonstrated excellence in academics and extra-curricular activities.
