Life is sooo sweet! I was just chauffeured home from a horse show held at Equestrian Estates this weekend. This being good thing is great, you get so much attention, tons of carrots, and people want to take photos of ME! People really admire you when you behave, I should have thought of this years ago. In any case, the show was great fun! The Hospitality tent was right next to my stall. I got a carrot every time someone went in there. People are so easy to train. Everyone told me I was gorgeous, well-muscled and shiny. I gave them my big eyed look, and voila, more carrots.
I LOVE THIS!
This was my third time doing Prix St Georges. The second time I showed this class, I won it with a 70% from Linda Zang. Boy, did that make everyone happy. Betsy was super proud of me. I received lots of carrots, special molasses treats, and of course, a nap. This time, Betsy and I thought we were great, but I have to say, B didn't help me as much as she could have. We messed up my 3's. Yikes, judges really take that seriously. We were fifth in the class with a 67.35%. Betsy was still really, really proud of me. However, in my own personal quest for excellence, I asked myself, "What would Seabiscuit do to come from behind and move nicely into first place?" Perhaps he would take a nap. That is exactly what I did.
Jessie was there bright and early the next day to do my braids. She is the only one that does them the way I like them. We had some good quality time together. Usually, when other people are around, I feel the need to entertain, but it was peaceful and quiet with just the two of us.
I was in the Developing Horse test today. It was really tricky, but I must say, I really pulled it off and was quite brilliant, if I do say so myself. This was in the "big guys" ring in front of three "big time" judges. Betsy told me that the dude at "C", Gary Rockwell, was a judge at the Olympics. I decided it was time to do my serious, fancy strut. I was attentive, brilliant, collected when I was supposed to be, flexible, balanced, all of the things that judges really like. He gave me a 70% for that strut. Marianne Ludwig gave me a 69%, which let me do like Seabiscuit and move right into
first place
! The crowd roared. Thanks Seabiscuit - you are an inspiration! Blue is my color.
My people are still patting me, telling me I am a genius, fluffing up my stall. I am letting them spoil me, they love that. They are still talking about how bent I was in the half pass and how forward in the extensions I was, this makes them happy, who knew!! Thought you all would like to know the latest. I'm goint to revel in this for awhile, my nap can wait today.
Nickers n snorts to you!!
