The following letter was written by Sara Janik ('06) thanking Janet Harms for allowing her to lease the UF owned horse - Gold - for the summer of 2009.


"I would like to thank Janet Harms and the entire staff at Findlay for letting me have a fantastic horse like Gold for the summer!  I am so grateful for the support I have received from the school since I graduated.  I am thankful everyday for the education I received from the staff, and I am forever in debt to Janet for making me the best rider I could ever hope to be.  Not only did the staff at UF educate and train me while I was in school, Janet continued to help me after graduation by recommending me for an amazing job, and giving me horses to show every summer!  When I told Janet I  wanted to earn my USDF Bronze Medal the summer after I graduated, she gave me Duel, a horse in the Dressage Program, to show 3rd Level for the summer.  With her coaching, I earned my medal within two months!  Then the next summer, she offered me Jordy, another school horse, and pushed me to try for my USDF Silver Medal.  Over the summer, I earned my 4th Level scores.  Now I am showing Prix St. George, in an attempt to finish earning my Silver Medal on my 3rd horse from UF, Gold.  Because of the program at The University of Findlay, I have already built up a great training business.  Next year, the first of my students will be attending UF!  The knowledge I gained and the connections I made while attending UF will stay with me forever.  Again, thank you for shaping me into the person I am, and giving me more support than I could ever ask for."
