Summer Internship Video

The Dressage Emphasis offers a summer internship for a limited number of Dressage students each year.  The students work one-on-one with Head Instructor - Janet Harms.  Each student is assigned several horses for the summer.

The students that participated in the Summer Internship video include:

Lindsey Carmack
Lindsey Carmack graduated in May of 2011 from UF.  Lindsey is the daughter of Nancy and Phil Carmack from Owings Cross Roads, Alabama.  Lindsey’s majors were Equestrian Studies-English Riding/Training and Equine Business Management.  Lindsey rode on the IDA team and the IHSA Western team in Reining. Lindsey is now working at Rod's Western Palace in Columbus, Ohio.

Allison McClure
Allison McClure graduated from UF in May of 2011.  Her majors were Equine Business Management and Equestrian Studies-English Riding/Training, with minors in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship.  She grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana, and is the daughter of Bill and Kathleen McClure.  Allison served as co-president of IDA, along with Lindsey Carmack.  She is now working as a Program Assistant in the Educational Program department at Equine Affaire in London, Ohio.

Jillian Burkart
Jillian Burkart is the daughter of Rick and Lisa Burkart of St. Joseph, Michigan, and will be graduating from UF in May 2012.  Her majors are Equestrian Studies-English Riding/Training and Equine Business Management, along with minors in Marketing and Business Administration.
Jillian has been active with the IDA team and has worked during the school year as an intern for the Dressage Program.  Jillian has participated in the Summer Internship for two summers.

Emily Staadecker
Emily Staadecker is the daughter of Judi and Bert Staadecker of Streetsboro, Ohio.  She will be graduating in May 2012 with degrees in Equine Business Management and Equestrian Studies-English Riding/Training, with a minor in Marketing.  Emily has been active with the IDA team.
