The English Equestrian Program hosted the third annual Mini-Prix Equestrian Festival on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the beautiful James L. Child Jr. Equestrian Complex..

FRIDAY

            

A new feature was added this year, the Welcome Stakes jumping competition on Friday afternoon.  29 riders participated in this fun and exciting event.  Current students, alumni, staff, and outside riders were invited to enter.        Jill (Tingley) Jewett (Hunter/Jumper Instructor and alumni '88) served as judge for the Welcome Stakes.

SATURDAY

26 riders competed in the first round for the Mini-Prix jumping competition.
The National Anthem was sung by Senior Hunter/Jumper student - Samantha Tuckerman.  The Young Marines of Findlay were the Color Guards.

Dressage students - Audrey Busby and Jennica Bradley provided great entertainment with a Pas de Deux to the Cowsill's 1960's era song "Hair".  The horses (a Lusitano and a Friesian) were chosen because their breeds are known for their long-flowing manes and tails.

            
                
            


Dressage students - Lindsay Carmack, Dylan Handy, Emily Staadecker, Becky Agnew, Alicia Sauers and Emma Perkuhn performed an intricate Quadrille to the Michael Jackson song "Beat It".
