Career Opportunities
The University of Findlay graduates in mathematics have had excellent placement in their major or related field in recent years. In addition, the broad liberal arts education offered at Findlay will prepare you to excel as a mathematician and as a capable professional.
Teaching:
Findlay mathematics majors receiving adolescent/young adult integrated mathematics licensure receive solid training in mathematics and excellent preparation for a career teaching high school mathematics. Many of our faculty members have worked as high school teachers. This experience and knowledge of the education field will assist students as they complete their mathematics and education courses and field experiences in the schools. Recent graduates are teaching at area high schools, colleges and at more distant locations. See the
Area of Education
for more information on licensure requirements.
Business and Industry:
Findlay mathematics majors have been sought by local businesses. Some of our graduates have combined their mathematics major with a computer science, technology management or business major to increase their marketability. Recent graduates are now working in systems analysis, actuarial science and other positions.
Graduate Work:
In recent years, a number of Findlay mathematics majors have continued their studies and received master's degrees. The degrees have been in education, administration, actuarial work, engineering, computer science and other areas. Several recent graduates are pursuing degrees in mathematics and statistics and have received graduate assistantships and fellowships to assist them in their studies.
