Interested in a career in medicine or dentistry? Give yourself The University of Findlay advantage!
Advantage 1
- You will need good undergraduate grades for admission to medical school. The Association of American Medical Colleges reports that most applicants to medical school in 2004 had GPAs of 3.5 or above. At The University of Findlay, you will have the advantage of small classes taught by well-qualified faculty members, not teaching assistants. The average student to faculty ratio in classes is less than 15:1 and faculty members are available and interested in getting to know you and answering your questions.
Advantage 2
- Strong test scores are also an important factor in determining who will be admitted to medical school. Typically scores of 9-10 on each section of the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) are required. The pre-medicine curriculum at UF is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in the content areas needed for success on the MCAT. The curriculum is also flexible enough to be tailored for preparation for other professional programs such as dentistry and chiropractic programs.
Advantage 3
- Being accepted to medical school requires more than just good grades and test scores. With its liberal arts tradition, your University of Findlay experience will also provide you with excellent preparation in the areas of written and oral communication, opportunities to participate in service and leadership roles on campus. These areas are critical to your future success as a physician.
