Fear Factor 2009
The events are still to be determined for Fear Factor Fall 2007, in the past, events have included (click on links to view video footage of the event):
Ø DRUM RUNEach team must field 4 members who will run a relay race around the campus, pushing a drum dolly with a 55-gallon somewhat empty drum on a drum dolly. The event will be timed.
Ø ROPE A DOPETeam roping. Each 6-person team is divided into 2-person lassoing sub-teams, one person piggyback on the back of a second person. The 3 sub-teams are located equidistant apart on the perimeter of a circle with a professor riding a tricycle within the circle. The event is timed, with the goal of one sub-team lassoing the professor. The event will be timed.
Ø BUDDY SWIMYour buddy is a greased watermelon. Each team must field 4 members who will swim a four-lap relay race in the Croy pool with each person swimming one lap. The watermelon cannot be pushed through the water, but must be carried by each swimmer with at least one arm around the watermelon at all times. The event will be timed.
Ø TUNNEL OF FEAREach team must field 4 members who will crawl through a black pipe tunnel, with turns and curves, approximately 70 feet long and 24 inches in diameter. The event will be timed. If your team fields more than 4 members for this event, the best four times will be used for scoring purposes. The team members will be dressed in tyvek.
Ø SAVE YOUR BUDDYYour buddy (a life size dummy) is located in a room with no lights, but lots of noise, and debris. All members of the team will be dressed in Level C (tyvek suit with hood, hard hat, safety goggles, face protector, 4 pair of gloves and boots). Five members of the team will search for their downed “buddy”. The goal is to find their “buddy”, place the “buddy” on a Stokes litter and exit the room. Oh yes, did I forget to mention that the team member not on the search team will have one radio, as will the search team, and provide directions to the search team. Who knows if the directions given to the outside team members are accurate, or if there are other teams on the same radio frequency? The event will be timed.
