Fear Factor 2009
FEAR FACTOR is a series of mental and physical challenges, which will enable the students, faculty and staff in teams of 6 (each team must be co-ed and we don’t mean 5-1), to test their mental, physical, and emotional abilities. The events are such that athletic prowess will not dominate the event. The event will an ice cream social and the presentation of awards.
Every person will receive a Fear Factor Tee Shirt. A trophy (custom made about 4 feet tall) will be awarded to the best overall team within each division. UF teams will compete within their own division. Also competing are high school teams as well as Alumni teams, with separate awards for each division (it would look bad if the high schools beat the UF teams).
All events are timed, with the team in each division receiving the lowest overall time winning the trophy.
CommentaryThe goal of this event is four fold: To have fun; to bring the campus together and instill an espirit de corps in the student body; to showcase UF to high school students, and to maintain contact with alumni.
The timing of the events depends upon the number of teams signing up for the event. But the one time that is fixed is the start of events. The events will start at 9:00am. Please arrive by 8:15am. Every participant will receive rules, a Tee shirt, and a free lunch.
Each team will receive their playbook during check in Saturday morning. The playbook will contain the rules for each event, the location for each event, and what each team must do at each event. In each division a trophy will be awarded for the team with the overall best time.
